01 · Overview

About the Arenora software platform

Arenora is an end-to-end stadium booking and operations system for customers, booking staff, cashiers, managers, and administrators. The public website presents stadium photography, facilities, capacity, transparent hourly and full-day rates, approved reviews, structured venue details, and schedule checks that account for both active bookings and maintenance. Inside the protected workspace, staff manage venues and catalogues, customers and internal notes, conflict-checked reservations, optional services, payments, refunds, expenses, maintenance, review moderation, users, permissions, activity history, settings, invoices, receipts, customer statements, and exportable management reports.

05 · Challenges

Arenora engineering challenges

  • Preventing double-booking across hourly ranges, full-day reservations, rescheduling, and maintenance periods while keeping availability fast enough for public comparison
  • Keeping booking totals, service charges, discounts, tax, paid amounts, balances, payment status, refunds, cancellation charges, and booking status financially consistent
  • Serving public visitors, customers without accounts, cashiers, managers, and administrators without exposing private booking or customer information
  • Turning operational records into useful management views across schedules, usage, occupancy, customer value, revenue, expenses, and profitability
  • Producing consistent branded invoices, receipts, statements, and reports for both on-screen use and downloadable PDF output

06 · Solutions

Fahad Naeem’s development approach

  • Centralized date-and-time overlap rules in a shared conflict checker, applied validation before saving, and repeated the check inside the booking transaction to close race windows
  • Normalized stadiums, facilities, services, customers, bookings, payments, refunds, expenses, maintenance, reviews, users, permissions, and logs into one relational model with explicit lifecycle fields
  • Wrapped booking, payment, refund, settings, and permission changes in database transactions, using row locks for balance-changing finance operations
  • Combined prepared MySQLi queries, CSRF validation, password hashing, secure session cookies, inactivity expiry, short-lived public booking access, and permission guards on protected routes
  • Built a reusable reporting pipeline with shared filters, date ranges, status and domain selectors, summary cards, A4 orientation, print styling, and mPDF generation
  • Normalized uploaded stadium and company images to optimized WebP assets while preserving orientation, resizing oversized sources, and flattening logos for reliable PDF rendering
